Bama Bowties with Chocolate Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
1/2 (17 1/4-oz.) package frozen puff pastry (1 sheet)
1 can of almond or apricot pie/pastry filling
(Angela buys the SOLO brand in the baking aisle at Kroger)
1 egg white
Sugar for sprinkling
Sanders Milk Chocolate Sauce
Let pastry stand at room temperature for 20 minutes until easy to roll. Unfold pastry on a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 14-inch square. Cut square in half with a pastry wheel or pizza cutter. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Spread about 1/2 cup of filling over one pastry half. Place remaining half on top of filling. Cut dough crosswise into fourteen 1-inch wide strips. Then cut each strip in half to make 28 pieces. Twist each strip twice. Place twists about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Brush twists with slightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden. Cool on wire racks.
Serve with warm Sanders Milk Chocolate Sauce for dipping. |
